E-Invoicing Support for UAE Businesses

UAE e-Invoicing is changing the way businesses issue, exchange and report invoice data. It is not simply a replacement for PDF invoices. The new framework requires structured invoice data to move electronically between trading parties through Accredited Service Providers and to be reported electronically to the Federal Tax Authority.

Hussain Al Shemsi Chartered Accountants supports businesses through the finance, tax, process and system changes required for UAE e-Invoicing. Our work covers readiness assessment, gap analysis, ERP and accounting-system review, workflow design, ASP coordination, implementation support and post-go-live review.

Our UAE e-Invoicing services include the following:

Assess current processes, systems, data and responsibilities before implementation.

Identify regulatory, process, data and technology gaps and prioritise remediation.

Translate identified requirements into a practical implementation plan with owners, milestones and dependencies.

Review invoice creation, approvals, exceptions, credit notes, AP and AR workflows and redesign them for structured e-Invoicing.

Review ERP/accounting systems, tax configuration, invoice fields, interfaces and data readiness.

Support configuration, integration, testing, controls, user readiness and go-live activities.

Check whether invoice exchange, reporting, controls, exception handling and reconciliations operate as intended after go-live.

Support requirements definition, ASP evaluation, onboarding coordination and implementation follow-up.

What UAE e-Invoicing means in practice

An eInvoice is structured invoice data issued and exchanged electronically between a supplier and a buyer and reported electronically to the FTA. A PDF, Word file, scanned document, image or emailed invoice is not an eInvoice by itself.

The UAE model uses the Peppol framework and PINT AE specifications. Businesses will work with a UAE Accredited Service Provider for invoice exchange and reporting. This makes e-Invoicing a cross-functional project involving finance, tax, IT, procurement, sales, master data and internal controls.

Why businesses should start before the deadline

The main implementation work normally sits inside existing systems and processes: invoice master data, VAT fields, customer and supplier records, ERP configuration, integrations, approval workflows, exception handling and testing. Leaving these activities until the final months can create unnecessary pressure on finance and IT teams.

A structured readiness exercise gives management a clear view of what is already in place, what needs to change and which decisions must be made before ASP onboarding and system testing.

How we support the project

Our approach is practical: understand the current environment, identify gaps, define the target process, coordinate required system and ASP actions, support testing and review controls after implementation. We work with management, finance, tax, IT and external solution providers so that business and compliance requirements remain aligned.

Frequently Asked Questions

UAE e-Invoicing is the structured electronic exchange of invoice data between a supplier and buyer, with electronic reporting to the FTA through the UAE e-Invoicing framework.

No. PDFs, Word files, scanned documents, images and email invoices are unstructured formats and are not eInvoices by themselves.

For persons with annual revenue of AED 50 million or more, mandatory implementation starts on 1 January 2027. For persons below AED 50 million, it starts on 1 July 2027. In-scope government entities have a 1 October 2027 implementation date.

An ASP is a service provider accredited under the UAE e-Invoicing framework to support the exchange and reporting of structured eInvoice data.

PINT AE is the UAE-specific Peppol invoice data specification used for structured e-Invoicing requirements.

Not necessarily. The first step is to assess whether the existing ERP or accounting system can provide the required data, support integration and handle the necessary invoice workflows.

Yes. Voluntary adoption began on 1 July 2026, subject to the applicable UAE technical requirements.

We can support readiness, gap assessment, process design, ERP/accounting review, implementation planning, ASP coordination, testing support and post-implementation review.
