The UAE Ministry of Finance has announced a targeted amendment to the regulations governing the country's eInvoicing system. Under the update, the deadline for large businesses to appoint an Accredited Service Provider (ASP) has been moved from July 31, 2026 to October 30, 2026.
The change, introduced through amendments to Ministerial Decision No. 244 of 2025, applies specifically to companies and entities with annual revenues exceeding AED 50 million. Importantly, the mandatory implementation date of January 1, 2027 remains firmly in place.
The Ministry stated that the extension follows a comprehensive review of market readiness and feedback from the business sector. Specifically, businesses raised concerns around the need for broader technical options and more competitive pricing from service providers.
With 32 service providers already approved and several others in the final stages of accreditation, the expanded ecosystem gives businesses more choices — and the additional time allows them to make a more informed selection.
Key fact: The extension only affects the ASP appointment deadline. The pilot phase begins July 1, 2026 (voluntary), and the mandatory full rollout for Phase 1 businesses remains January 1, 2027.
